Live your mission. This is Experience Mission’s slogan, and honestly, I have found this one of the best ways to live life. Live your mission doesn’t have to be a super complicated thing. It can be as small as being nice to a waitress who is having a bad day, you never know what she is dealing with in her life. Or as big as following God’s callings for your life.
Living my mission looks like a couple of different things.
- Love everyone, unconditionally.
- Relationships are important.
- Follow God’s calling without hesitation.
- Be a reflection for Christ, even when it is tough.
I won’t lie to you, I don’t always follow through with these. Sometimes I’m impatient. Sometimes I could be a better person in a relationship. Sometimes I question why God is calling me somewhere. Sometimes I could do better at reflecting Christ. But at the end of the day, I try to accomplish these things that God has put on my heart as my missions.
I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of Experience Mission through their Immersion program and now their summer staff programs. These two opportunities have truly shown me what it is like living your mission. Whether it was spending time with my Tican (Costa Rican) sister, Amy, and talk about life or cleaning an outhouse in New Mexico.
Experience Mission’s motto has become the core of who I am and I will try my hardest each and ever day to “live my mission.”
